Luke Roberts and Patsy Kensit return to Holby City as their alter-egos Joseph Bryne and Faye Morton in tonight’s episode (September 3 2019).
Luke, who was last on the BBC medical drama back in 2011, appeared on Lorraine this morning to talk about his return to the show.

When asked how it felt being away for all those years and coming back and if it was like coming home, Luke said: “It truly was.
“Yeah, just seeing that clip actually, had I known Rosie, or rather I should say, Jac broke down in that way I never would’ve left.”
He joked: “If only I’d known the depth of the emotion. But no, she does a fantastic job and yeah it’s been great. I only came back, well I won’t say anymore but recently.”
Talking about Joseph’s marriage with Faye, Luke said: “Yes that is a triumph in itself. But of course this creates tension between himself and Jac, more than tension.
“They were married, then they obviously separated and the backstory we’ll discover in tonight’s episode.
“He’s had another marriage but that, there is a story there, and they are back together and reunited they re-enter the primary care trust of Holby City hospital and indeed yeah, it throws the whole thing into disarray.”
In a preview of tonight’s episode, Faye appears to try to wind up Jac and it’s obvious there is tension between the three of them.

It was announced back in May that Joseph and Faye would be returning to Holby as part of the programme’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
They were last seen in Holby nearly 10 years ago and will be returning under dramatic circumstances.
