Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield giggle about having RUM tasting just before This Morning’s royal visit

They found the timing hilarious!

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are welcoming royalty to the This Morning studios today.

So perhaps it wasn’t the best day to have a rum tasting in the morning!

The telly favourites admitted to viewers on Wednesday’s show they found it quite funny-slash-worrying they’d be sampling booze ahead of meeting Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

“We have royalty coming to the studio!” said a gleeful Holly.

“As soon as the show is finished,” added Phil, “so you will see what happens on tomorrow’s show.”

They began to giggle as they realised next up was a rum tasting… good timing just before you meet the heir to the throne, right?

Holly joked if they overindulged, she’d be shouting out, “I love you!”

“Don’t do it!” laughed Phil.

“We’ll be fine,” assured Holly. “We are very professional!”

Phillip agreed, saying: “We will just have a sip!”

The pair sampled a variety of rums in the feature, which was to coincide with the end of Dry January and increasing popularity of rum for the year ahead.

At one stage Holly mused: “Rum seems stronger than I remember it. Maybe it’s because I never start a night out on rum!”

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall are visiting the ITV studio to celebrate This Morning’s 30th anniversary.

Phillip said last week: “Charles and Camilla will discover more about This Morning’s successful campaigns and meet other members of the ITV Daytime family, as the couple mark the 90th birthday of the Royal Television Society, of which Prince Charles is a patron.”

The presenters added that the royal couple will sign a visitors’ book, which will be given away as a competition prize later this year.

Exciting!
