Holly Willoughby sends fans into a panic after appearing to quit This Morning

But is all as it seems?

| Updated:

Holly Willoughby has fallen foul of a shocking hoax, which left fans believing she was QUITTING This Morning.

According to reports, a prankster hacked into Holly’s Twitter account and wrote a message announcing her departure from the hugely popular daytime show.

The message even falsely stated that the 37-year-old, who co-hosts the ITV programme alongside Phillip Schofield, would be launching a line of ‘health and wellness products’ instead.

It apparently read: “It’s time to move on. I’m going to miss ‘This Morning’ dearly, but it’s the next step in my career. I’d like to announce I’m launching my own line of health and wellness products!

“Be on the lookout! 🙂 Thank you to all my fans for the support over the years!”

Fans were shocked by the fake message, which was swiftly deleted.

The hoax came just days after a similar post was shared on Holly’s official Facebook page.

Reading like an advert, that post – according to The Sun – had used false comments from Holly to promote a dieting ‘cleanse’. Again, this was promptly deleted.

Despite losing a noticeable amount of weight over the past year or so, Holly has made it clear on several occasions that she does not wish to speak publicly about her shape and size.

And it is for a very good reason, too.

In an interview with The Sun’s Fabulous magazine last September, Holly explained: “I think people will always discuss [my weight], and it’s exactly why I just won’t. It just adds to it.

“I’ve sat across from parents who have lost children from [eating disorders] and I don’t want to be a part of it.

“Body image is such a dull subject when there is so much more to talk about. As long as you’re happy and you’re healthy, move on.”

Earlier in the year, she had also told Prima magazine: “I actually avoid talking about my diet and exercise regime because I have interviewed so many people affected by eating disorders and I know some people in chat rooms can really fixate on other people’s diet.

“I just can’t contribute to that.”
