Holly Willoughby unleashes rare rant over BRIT Awards photos

She has a good point

Holly Willoughby has revealed her annoyance after accusing paparazzi photographers of trying to take pictures up her skirt after the BRIT Awards.

The TV presenter shared a montage of candid photos on Instagram of herself, Louise Redknapp, Rita Ora and Abbey Clancey exiting cars after the ceremony.

She claimed photographers had held their cameras low to get revealing shots.

Just hours earlier the stars had worn or held white roses on the BRITs red carpet in support of the Time’s Up movement for gender equality.

An angry Holly said: “At the beginning of the night we held white roses and walked down a red carpet full of the hope and pride that comes with the #timesupcampaign…

“At the end of the night, cameras were held low to get a photo up our skirts… times apparently up on #timesup.”

Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello were among the celebrities who sported white roses at the ceremony, following in the footsteps of stars at the Grammys.

It comes just days after actresses wore black dresses to the BAFTAs to stand in solidarity with victims of sexual harassment.

Many celebrities reposted Holly’s rant and gave her their full backing.

Among them was All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, who shared Holly’s message, and fellow TV presenter Kate Thornton, who wrote: “Hear hear @hollywilloughby. This is so out of order and so out of step with the progressive times we’re fighting for.”

EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite added: “Yes @hollywilloughby … perfectly put #timesup.”

The official This Morning Instagram account also shared Holly’s image, which was posted on Thursday evening.

Many fans rallied around Holly as well.

Holly, 37, has been vocal about her support for gender equality.

She famously got a pay rise at This Morning last year following reports she was paid less than co-star Phillip Schofield, bringing her salary on an equal par with his.

In an interview with The Sun’s Fabulous magazine in September, she said of gender pay gaps: “I think it’s outrageous, I mean there’s no reason for it at all.

“If you have two equally qualified people who have been doing something for the same amount of time then there is absolutely no excuse.”

Holly described herself as a feminist and revealed hopes her daughter Belle, six, will grow up to believe women can achieve anything.

“Feminism should be a belief that women are able to do whatever they want to do and be whoever they want to be,” she said.

“And of course that’s what I believe in, and that’s exactly what I want Belle to feel like. I think we have come a long way, but there is still a way to go.”

Holly and husband Dan Baldwin are also parents to sons Harry, eight, and Chester, three.
