Jeremy Kyle has confessed his romantic proposal to partner Vicky Burton didn’t exactly go as he planned.
The talk show host, 52, popped the question during a romantic holiday in the Caribbean earlier this year and had the big moment all worked out.
Sunshine, beaches, a glittering ring, what could go wrong?!
Well, appearing on Loose Women, he explained: “So, it was in the Caribbean and I’d been carrying the ring around in a dry bag for days.
“I thought, ‘This is the moment, on the boat to the island. It will be perfect!’

“Then it starts to rain and isn’t looking good. I think, I need to find somewhere to shelter and found somewhere I thought was exclusive looking but it was a shack, basically.
“So I went down on one knee but there was glass on the floor.
“I opened the ring and she said, ‘It’s upside down, will you just get up, I can’t even see the ring!”
“I tried to be romantic and failed miserably!”
When asked if he felt pressure to deliver an amazing proposal, he said: “That’s the truth. Listen, I’m very happy and very excited.”
As for whether he and Vicky want children, he said: “Unbelievable question! I’m just going to be grandad.”
Jeremy’s daughter Harriet is pregnant.
“I’m quite excited about being a grandad. My daughter said I should be ‘Grumps’!”
Jeremy was on Loose Women to promote the latest series of his The Kyle Files, which starts again on Monday at 8pm on ITV.
This six-part series includes investigations into the dangers of the internet, emergency services, acid attacks and body image.
“I think on the back of Love Island men are now becoming obsessed, we do a show on that and I confronted a steroid dealer, this obsession about gyms and blokes needing to look perfect and all that.”
The first episode, airing this evening, is all about cannabis and the debate over whether it should be legalised.
“I don’t know what the view of most people is but cannabis is illegal,” said Jeremy.

“We did this show to try to open the debate and it was fascinating. We asked this question, we end up finding quite a senior policewoman who, three years ago, her son was given three months to live. Tumours in his brain. A desperate mother. Goes online and finds the ability to get cannabis oils online from States, which are illegal. Goes into hospital at 1030 at night and puts two drops in his mouth every night without telling her husband, and he’s still alive today three years later.
“Then we spoke to a guy whose son smoked skunk and ended up losing his life.
“There is a real balance to it.”
