Ore Oduba danced into the nation’s hearts and walked away with the Strictly Come Dancing crown.
Now, TV bosses are reportedly in a £500,000 battle to sign him.
Broadcastng chiefs are worried that the Breakfast sports reporter may move to ITV , following the footsteps of Susanna Reid.
Susanna joined ITV’s Good Morning Britain after finishing the dance competition as runner-up.
Ore could be snapped up by BBC’s The One Show if he stays, after he was spotted talking to Controller Charlotte Moore.
But will Ore choose ITV? He did successfully step in for Phillip Schofield on This Morning!
A source told The Sun: “It’s clear Ore’s a rising star and he’s now a household name because of Strictly.
“He was given his One Show presenting debut during Strictly in a really tricky episode where he had to interview Sir Cliff Richard, but passed the test with flying colours.
“There’s a sense of urgency to get him presenting some other programmes and have him based in London now after he won plaudits from his spot on This Morning.
“And because he’s a black presenter, the BBC has another incentive to give him more prominence within the channel due to their push for diversity.
“They’ll schedule a meeting for after Christmas and try to nail him down with an exclusive deal that could see him be one of their top talents and earn up to £500,000.”
Ore triumphed over actor Danny Mac and singer Louise Redknapp in Saturday night’s tense final.
He will soon return for the Strictly Come Dancing tour but admitted on This Morning: “I’ve got withdrawal symptoms, it’s the first day in four months I haven’t danced.
“I was crying knowing I wouldn’t be dancing. I was devastated.”
The 30-year-old also revealed how shocked he and partner Joanne Clifton were by their win.
“We didn’t expect to be there, we didn’t expect to win. I’m in completely recycled clothes, the only thing clean here is pants.”
