Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd has revealed that a soap fan he’d never met left him a very generous gift in their will.
The actor, who plays David Platt in the long-running ITV soap, revealed that a man from New Zealand chose to give Jack 10% of his estate.
In a recent interview, he explained this amounted to the very handsome sum of £5,000.

Taking part in a chat on Instagram Live alongside co-star Julia Goulding, the pair were asked the question: “What is the kindest thing a fan has ever done for you?”
And Jack revealed that he was left money by a fan.
He said: “Gave me five grand in their will. From New Zealand, a fan. Died and gave me ten percent of his estate which was five grand so cheers.”

Jack recently saw the funny side when a fan took a photo of him unconscious in a lift after enjoying the World Cup festivities…
The picture showed Jack asleep in a lift clutching his phone after celebrating England’s win against Colombia.
Poking fun at the situation, Jack shared the photo on Instagram Stories with the message: “I was texting Gareth saying…. ‘it’s coming home’.”
Jack has played David for 18 years, and his most recent storyline saw him drugged and raped by Josh Tucker.
