Former X Factor star Jahmene Douglas has opened up about the time he posted a tweet that left people fearing for his safety – and has revealed that Nicole Scherzinger was there for him when he needed her most.
Back in March the singer posted a lengthy tweet in which he told his thousands of fans that he was having a “dark day” and asked them to “pray for him”.

Now several months on, he has appeared on Lorraine and told stand-in host Christine Lampard that “people give themselves so many places to hide” and that his post was a way of trying to expose that place so he had “nowhere to hide.”
“I wasn’t really of my right mind when I did it, but I just got it out of the way,” he said of his moment of madness.
It’s been well documented about the abuse he suffered during his childhood at the hands of his father and now he says that he is starting to accept it and deal with it.
In fact, he has exorcised some demons in a book of poetry he has just published which is full of poems that he has written over the years.
One of the poems he has dedicated to Nicole Scherzinger, his mentor on The X Factor, who he says had reached out to him during his darkest moment.
“She is probably the person I stay closest with from the show – she’s my big sister,’ he said.
“She doesn’t know it’s in the book, I wrote it for her on one of her birthdays and changed the title.
“We share scripture, talk all the time and she always supports me, especially in March, she reached out to me and we met up.”
Lorraine viewers were moved by the young singer’s openness and took to Twitter to commend him on his honesty.
