Blunt by name, blunt by nature, James ‘you’re beautiful’ Blunt is fast becoming known as much for his wit as his music and now he’s made a cutting comment about fellow songster, Ed Sheeran.
He says the flame-haired phenomenon was telling porkies when he claimed he’d been sliced by a sword-wielding Princess Beatrice.

The story goes that the seventh in line to the throne gave Ed a cut to the face in November last year.
Apparently P.Bea was mucking about, pretending to knight ‘Sir’ Ed, when she slipped.
It’s lucky she doesn’t work on the deli counter, there’d be blue blood everywhere.
It was said at the time that Beatrice was swinging the sword behind her when she sliced open Ed’s cheek.
Blood spurted from him and the global megastar had to rush to A&E before his fans were deprived of his strumming.

But wait there a second, tell your grenadier guards to hold their horses. It ain’t over till the Blunt sings – or squeals – for he says it’s all a big fat lie.
The 43-year-old was there when the incident supposedly occurred. He’s said the story was made up by Ed in a‘desperate’ bid to shift album sales.
When pressed for more info on how much of the story was a fib, James said: “All of it. Apart from the actual scar. It’s bizarre that people fell for it. I blame him. He must be desperate – he’s trying to sell records.”
Talking about the scar Ed was left with, James said he wasn’t there when it happened but the injury hasn’t affected Ed’s good looks.
“He cut himself and I just patched him up. It’s made him look prettier,” he said.
“Ed was drunk, messing around, and he cut himself. We made a fancy story up; people fell for it. It was very embarrassing.”
‘For a start, she is a princess and would be rehearsed and practised in these matters, and given the NHS waiting lists it would have been impossible to get to hospital and back so quickly.’
There’s been no word as yet from the Palace, as to what the princess has to say on the matter.
She may have been annoyed by a fake story that would hurt her future knighting potentials!
It’s always hard to tell when James Blunt is joking or not, of course – and we love him for it!
At the end of last year, the singer poked fun at himself when he revealed he had his own new album coming up.

Taking to Twitter at the end of a year that saw a string of celebrities die including David Bowie, George Michael and Carrie Fisher, he joked: “If you thought 2016 was bad, I’m releasing an album in 2017.”
Bless ‘im!
