James Jordan denies he will pull out of DOI because of injury

He's hit back at the rumours

James Jordan has spoken out to quash rumours that he will have to quit Dancing On Ice because of his injuries.

The Strictly Come Dancing star has been in a lot of pain since falling on to his arthritic hip during training and he has been having physio sessions because the pain is so bad.

However, the 40-year-old took to Twitter today (7 February) to confirm that he is not “pulling out” of the skating show.

He told his followers: “Just to clarify some of the rumours that I might have to pull out of @dancingonice

“I was asked about any injuries of which I have lots… but never considered pulling out. I am loving the whole experience and loving the support even more.

“I can only do my best, love you all.”

His supporters gave him words of encouragement following his post, including James’ Dancing On Ice co-star Jane Danson.

The Coronation Street actress tweeted back to him: “You got this 😘.”

James, who is partnered with skater Alexandra Schauman, revealed he has resorted to wearing padded ice hockey trousers to protect him during training because he is in so much pain with his hip.

On his Instagram Stories he said: “Still on the ice trying to master these jumps. It’s driving me mad. I’ve got my hockey pants on because I keep falling over and my hip is killing me. But I’ll get there.”

The professional dancer has been impressing the judges with his performances on the ice each week. And he also revealed today that he is trying a new nail-biting move for Sunday’s show.

On his Instagram Stories, James showed a DOI choreographer teaching him the “spin kiss” move, which he admitted looks pretty hairy!
