Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay has been forced to call off upcoming shows due to ill health

The dashing soul singer has ditched two London shows because of an on going problem with his back

He and his band were due to play at the O2 Arena on June 23 and 24, as well as a couple of gigs over seas but have now rescheduled them for December.

In a video post on Facebook, the poorly looking fella said: “It is with great regret that again I have to disappoint people due to the ongoing problem with my back.

“I have never felt so frustrated with a situation as I feel now, and I am desperate to get back to form.

“After two operations I am only marginally more active, and I know I could never give the 125% energy I need to give to you good people a super show.”

He added: “I am a proud man, and it breaks my heart to have to keep moving these performances and asking for people’s patience.

“I am distraught at this and am feeling very low.”

Jay, 47, revealed that he had a spinal procedure last month, and said he had been “immobilised” after his important surgery.

Luckily for Jay, his fans weren’t too upset about the cancellation  supportive and posted messages of well wishes.

“Health is more important than a concert,” wrote one understanding fan, while another shared his own spinal surgery tales.

A third devotee said, “The shows can wait and we’ll wait for you too.”
