Janet Street Porter has revealed she’s taking a couple of weeks off Loose Women to have surgery.
During Wednesday’s Loose Women, the panellist said she’s undergoing a knee replacement surgery.
Janet, 71, said her knee is “completely worn out” because of her active lifestyle.

Coleen Nolan announced the news to viewers.
She said: “Today is actually a sad day because it’s Janet’s last day for a while.”
Janet quipped: “Take that smile off your face!”
Janet continued: “I’m going off, and I’ve got to say these words and I’m not happy about it, I’ve got to have a knee replacement.
“My left knee is completely and utterly worn out. It’s largely worn out because I’ve spent my entire life walking, playing tennis, keeping fit and swimming.”
Stacey Solomon then cut in: “And ignoring the doctor when he says you need to fix your knee, so it’s got progressively worse.”
Janet replied: “Yeah, yeah, yeah. I had those operations where they hoover out all the gravel that’s in your joints.”
Janet revealed a year ago, she was supposed to have an operation but she didn’t want to take time off Loose Women.
The star continued: “I’ve only ever had a serious operation once which was when I broke my leg climbing in the Highlands and then I drove myself to the hospital.”
Janet admitted she’s “nervous” about the upcoming surgery.
She said: “I am nervous actually. When I broke my ankle I was just carrying on with life as normal.
“Now, I know I’ve got to take two weeks off to rehabilitate my knee.
“If anyone watching can reassure me that I will be playing tennis again, please tell me.”
Her fellow panellists did just that and then surprised Janet with a leaving gift.
The presents included a Poldark cushion, a framed picture of the Loose Women panel and her beloved Wonder Woman fancy dress outfit.

Stacey admitted she’s “gutted” to see Janet go and will miss her a lot.
Janet jokingly replied: “Don’t come and visit me. Don’t upstage me in the hospital. I want to be queen of my little zone.”
