This Morning’s Jeff Brazier has told how Jade Goody ‘helped’ him explain her passing to their young sons after she died.
The 39-year-old telly personality revealed the former couple explained to their boys Bobby and Freddie that Jade – suffering from cervical cancer – would be heading to the heavens as a celestial body.
Tasked with having to break the terrible news about their mother’s loss to their kids – aged just five and four when she passed away – Jeff was grateful for clear skies that evening.
He noted to Woman magazine that his unenviable position was eased slightly by the presence of “one big brilliant bright star”.

Jeff told the mag: “I just remember we told them the whole time that mum was going to be a beautiful bright star in the sky, rising up to heaven and she was going to go and do a very important job.”
Having waited several hours since Jade slipped away in her sleep, the TV host revealed how he had waited until the boys were due to go to sleep before letting them know they mother had gone.
He also suggested he had found it hard facing up to having to deliver the desperately sad update.
“I thought it was the best time of night, and probably bought myself a little bit of time to be honest,” Jeff added.

However, it seems the scenario Jade and Jeff had laid out was helpful when it came to having the awful conversation with the young pair.
According to Jeff, it appears their reasoning was of considerable comfort to Bobby and Freddie, who – nearly ten years on – are now teenagers.
He recalled: “I took them outside, they saw it, they knew themselves: ‘That’s mummy, isn’t it?'”
Jade’s widower Jack Tweed recently revealed he has been back in touch with Jeff and Jade’s sons after their dad cut communication with him.
