Jeremy Kyle viewers cry as ill fan dies days after getting her dream of being in the audience

It was a heartbreaking episode

Viewers of The Jeremy Kyle show were welling up after terminally ill Elizabeth Powell died just days after she was granted her dream of sitting in the talk show’s audience.

Elizabeth was battling cancer when she was taken to the show by her daughter Jenna.

On today’s episode (January 16), Jeremy greeted her with a big hug backstage and showed her around the studio.

The show decided to set up the special visit after hearing about Elizabeth’s wish to come to watch the programme being filmed.

Jeremy, 53, told Elizabeth: “Today, this show is all about you.”

It was an emotional watch as Elizabeth was greeted by huge applause. Her friends and family also sent her heartfelt tributes via video link as she sat in the audience with Jeremy.

But when the show ended the sad news was revealed that Elizabeth had passed away on January 9 this year.

It left viewers in tears with some expressing their upset online.

One fan of the show tweeted: “@itvjeremykyle I’m heartbroken at Elizabeth. #jeremykyle.”

Another devastated viewer wrote: “Was not expecting to be crying at #jeremykyle this morning. RIP Elizabeth.”

And a third added: “Just watched @itvjeremykyle and it was absolutely heartbreaking watching that home video and hearing of the passing of Elizabeth! My heart goes out to all her family! A truly beautiful woman! Well done to all at the show for making her so happy! #jeremykyle.”

The show also tweeted a supportive message to Elizabeth’s family.
