We still have very mixed feelings about Julie Hesmondhalgh leaving Corrie – the Street has never been the same since the sad demise of Hayley Cropper in .
But it did free up Julie to bring us amazing performances in TV dramas such as Broadchurch.
They don’t allow her to be on our telly boxes as often as we’d like though… she’d need to do another soap for that.
Well, don’t hold your breaths, because the chances of her accepting another soap role are very slim.

Talking to Best magazine, Julie revealed: “I’ve worked on the best.
“It would be very hard to top Hayley in terms of a soap character.
“I never say never but I don’t see it.”

The 47-year-old also admitted she doesn’t think she would have landed the role of Hayley, who took her own life after battling if the character was being introduced today.
“I feel so lucky to have got the part when I did,” she added. “I don’t think it would happen today.”
Deciding to quit a show and a character she adored was a tough decision, she admits.
“I was leaving a very secure job,” admits the mum of two. “But I am a believer in taking the leap of faith.
“I will never forget it. I loved Hayley and I still miss her today.
