Love Island star Kady McDermott has apologised after branding former TOWIE star Maria Fowler’s daughter “vile”.
Kady called Maria’s two-year-old little girl “vile” as they exchanged private messages about their rival interior companies and it’s since been reported that she’s been dropped by fashion brand Missy Empire over her comments.
The star, who appeared in the 2016 series of Love Island, posted a statement to her Instagram on Friday saying she’s “only human and naturally I make mistakes on temporary based emotions”.

She wrote: “I’m only human and naturally I make mistakes on temporary based emotions.
“I privately messaged Maria yesterday my apology but as it’s everywhere I will do a public one too. I am deeply sorry to Maria, her partner and of course gorgeous Evie.
“I did NOT mean what I said. I was massively upset by Maria’s comments to me that made me feel SO upset beyond words and a degrade to my character, I then wanted to hurt her where it hurt too so I reacted irrationally and badly.
“It was a disgusting comment stupidly said in a split second of anger, I instantly regretted it and deleted the comment straight away but sadly the damage was already done.”
She added: “P.S abuse my appearance/personality if it makes you all feel better but please stop with the ‘go hang yourself’ comments and ‘I hope you get cancer’ comments, behind this Instagram profile I am a real human too with real emotions.”
The pair clashed when Kady launched her own renovations company called Our Village Project – which appeared to be similarly worded to Maria’s business, Project In A Village.
In the private messages – which were shared to Twitter by Maria – Kady had wrote: “You’re a grown woman with a child going about someone having a similar name to yours. So embarrassing. I wasn’t gonna say anything but I’ve just watched your stories and I’m cringing.
So kady Mcdermott comes at me in my inbox calling me a nobody and resorts to calling my 2 year old daughter vile. What a lovely lovely girl. 🙄 pic.twitter.com/GcuSLYYJxG

“So so so much more happening in the world then similar bios and Instagram names. Maria no one wants to copy you. You’re no one. Grow up.”
The final message she sent to Maria read: “Your daughter is vile.”
Maria tweeted the messages and wrote: “So Kady McDermott comes at me in my inbox calling me a nobody and resorts to calling my 2-year-old daughter vile. What a lovely lovely girl.”
However, after receiving an apology from Kady, Maria posted a message to social media asking her fans to stop trolling the reality star.
In a statement, Maria said: “I have rang Kady this morning, she has apologised to me.
“I have seen things that people are saying to her and despite the fact that her comment about Evie was totally wrong and initally I didn’t want to contact her, I felt like I needed to make sure she’s not at harm.”

It’s since been reported that Kady has been dropped by Missy Empire over her comments.
According to The Sun, the company replied to one fan on social media, saying: “We are aware of Kady’s comments. As of now we have stopped her endorsement with us. Apologies. Thanks again.”
A rep for Kady told ED!: “Kady is taking some time away from social media, this will include postponing any endorsement deal she has for the time being.”
