Kate and Gerry McCann have spoken about the pain of the festive season with their daughter Madeleine missing.
The couple wrote on their website Find Maddie: “We couldn’t let a Christmas go by without passing on a warm ‘thank you’ to all our supporters for the kind and continuing good wishes, especially at this very busy time of year.
“We miss Madeleine dearly. Christmas will never be the same without her, but we will continue to make the best of what we have.
“Thank you. Kate & Gerry.”
The message was posted next to a picture of a sparkling silver tree.
Kate has spoken in the past about the heartbreak of Christmas, explaining it is “tinged with pain and longing”, adding: “Madeleine should be here and we should be celebrating with her.
“We have not lost hope that we may get to celebrate another Christmas with her.”
The mum of three has also previously revealed that she still buys Christmas gifts for her oldest daughter, and puts them in her bedroom.

Her devastated parents will be trying to make the holidays fun for their other children, 13-year-old twins, Sean and Amelie.
Maddie vanished from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, when she was three years old, just over a decade ago, In May 2007.
Prayers will be said for Maddie during the Christmas Day church service in the McCanns’ home village.
