Kate Garraway and her daughter Darcey enjoyed a day out at Wimbledon over the weekend, in their first mother and daughter trip out since the death of Darcey’s father, Derek Draper.
Kate and Darcey snapped a string of photos and were all smiles as they soaked up the sun whilst courtside. The GMB star even took to social media to detail their fun-filled day out.
It was here that fans of the star spotted Darcey’s sweet tribute to her dad, Derek Draper, who died in January due to suffering from severe complications from Covid-19.

TV veteran Kate could be seen grinning at the camera and sporting an elegant blue ensemble as she posed alongside her 18-year-old daughter, Darcey.
The duo enjoyed strawberries and cream whilst boasting courtside hospitality passes – all whilst making sure to get a host of selfies to document the day.
Kate took to social media to share her joy over her Wimbledon day out with her daughter. She penned: “Thank you so much to @vodafoneuk for the best mum and daughter’s day @wimbledon. We haven’t spent the day just the two of us for years – so many giggles!
“The tennis was sensational too – huge congrats to the brilliant @bkrejcikova for her spectacular win and @jasmine_paolini for battling every point for the most gripping final. #perfectday #gratitude #makingmemories @runraggeduk #lucky #special.”
Meanwhile, fans of the star noticed Darcey’s heartfelt nod to her late father, Derek. One pointed out: “Glad you enjoyed today and just look at Darcey wearing her dad’s hat, how lovely.”
Another questioned: “Derek’s hat????”
She wears it well doesn’t she.
To this, Kate confirmed in the comment section: “Yes it is Derek’s hat – good spot! She wears it well doesn’t she.”
A third added: “She’s stunning. Derek’s hat…what a nice touch!”

Darcey sported her father’s sun hat, to make sure she avoided getting burnt beneath the sun.
Elsewhere, fans couldn’t help but gush over Darcey and Kate’s happy appearances. One praised: “Pretty girl and so nice to see you both relaxing and laughing. Derek would be so pleased, I’m sure.”
A second chimed in: “Darcey is stunning and looks so grown up!! She definitely gets her looks from her mama. I’m so pleased that there is light after the terrible storm that you have been through.”

Derek died in January at the age of 56 following his battle with Covid-19 and its after-effects.
