Kate Garraway has detailed her “great loneliness” as husband Derek Draper continues to recover from COVID-19.
The Good Morning Britain presenter appears on new BBC Two show Walking With… tonight (November 10).
During the show, she’ll be seen opening up about Derek, and her “fears” for the future.
Ahead of the show, Kate has opened up about Derek’s health and revealed how she’s coped over the past 20 months since he contracted the virus.
What did Kate Garraway say about husband Derek?
Speaking to The Mirror, Kate revealed she has “moments of great loneliness and fear”.

She added that there’s one person she wants to turn to for support, and can’t… her beloved Derek.
Kate said: “I’ve had moments of great loneliness and fear. It’s hard because the person I wanted to give me a hug is the person that can’t – and that’s Derek.”
GMB host Kate ‘very grateful for today’
However, she said practising mindfulness has helped her to feel “very grateful for today”.
Kate, who’ll be seen walking int he Cotswolds countryside, added: “There’s something about coming here and reminding yourself that you can feel the countryside wrapping its arms around you and giving you love back. I feel very grateful for today.”

The show marks the first time Kate has had the whole day to herself since Derek fell ill.
She appears to have relished the chance to have the whole day to herself “with no purpose other than taking in the sights and sounds and joy of the countryside”.
Kate’s hope for a ‘miracle’
It also appears filming the show gave Kate a renewed hope for Derek’s future.
She concluded: “It’s much easier to do when you’re somewhere like this. It is much easier to hang on to the hope of a miracle. A great sense that anything can happen.”
Walking With… Kate Garraway airs tonight (November 10) on BBC Two at 7pm.
