Poor old Katherine Jenkins has endured a pretty bumpy start to the New Year which has resulted in a trip to the hospital.
Opera singer Katherine, who appeared on The Masked Singer as Octopus in 2020, uploaded a post to Instagram earlier today (January 7).
In it, she shared both good and “bad news”…
Katherine Jenkins breaks her toe
The singer has been in the wars and has the X-ray pics to prove it.
Posting a picture of her X-rayed foot, Katherine said: “A little bit of bad news and a big bit of good news… Starting the year with a broken pinky toe.”
She added an angry-looking emoji, and we can’t blame her, the clean break must be pretty sore.
Fans flooded the post with well wishes, with one asking Katherine if her mum did the X-ray. Her mum Susan worked as an NHS radiographer before her retirement.
So you can drink your new gin for pain relief!
“I wish she had but she’s retired now!” Katherine said. “She did advise, though.”
She already revealed she’s struggling to rest up and let her foot heal. Replying to a fan, Katherine admitted: “Thank you – I’m not good with anything that slows me down!”

However, it seems she might have also found something to numb the pain with…
“BUT also with a lovely announcement that @Cygnet_gin is partnering with the iconic Penderyn Distillery. Cygnet embodies the essence of my homeland – it’s incredible natural beauty, the warmth & passion of our people and the unparalleled care with which we make our products and so I am thrilled that our new home is the historical Copperworks Distillery with our friends at Penderyn. Come visit us for a tasting!” she shared.
“So you can drink your new gin for pain relief!” one fan commented.
Katherine replied: “Haha – like your style!”
