Katie Piper has revealed she’s been battling a potentially fatal blood infection that led to sepsis.
The acid-attack survivor, 35, has been in and out of hospital for the past few weeks after being diagnosed with the scary illness which can lead to tissue damage, organ failure and even death.

A few weeks ago, Katie had warned her 868,000 Instagram followers to look after themselves and not to ignore signs of illness.
Admitting she herself had an infection, she shared a hospital selfie alongside the message: “Ignored some symptoms because of being too busy and now I am in hospital with a bad infection!
“Moral of the story, always listen to your body. I am being looked after by some fantastic NHS nurses and doctors as always.”

However, the seemingly innocent infection quickly evolved into something much more sinister when the former Strictly star developed sepsis.
Today (May 30), Katie admitted she’s been battling for her life in hospital, but hadn’t wanted to post about it because she wasn’t sure “what the outcome would be”.
She wrote: “Happy days… Today I have been officially discharged from treatment for my infection. So this should be my final selfie from the ward for a while.”
She continued: “I didn’t want to post too many details on here, until I knew what was going to be the outcome. Thank you to everyone who has sent me get well soon messages, cards and gifts.
“I had a kidney infection that spread to my blood leaving me being treated for sepsis.
“It’s been a pretty rough time, but I’m so happy to finally feel better, extremely grateful to all the NHS staff who helped me fight this infection. We are so lucky to have this system.”
Fans were quick to send their well wishes to Katie, with one posting: “Sending you so so much love! So glad you are out of hospital and hope you get some much needed R&R at home with your babies.”
“Bless you Katie, you poor thing!” wrote another. “I am glad you are on the mend now. Our NHS staff are wonderful.”
Katie has spent more time than most in and out of hospitals having hundreds of operations after an horrific event left her scarred for life in 2008.
In March of that year, she was attacked with acid by her ex-boyfriend and an accomplice, causing major damage to her face and blindness in one eye.
