Katie Price launches petition to make trolling “criminal offence”

The glamour girl has had enough of online bullies being mean about her son

We all know that Katie Price has no time for keyboard bullies.

But unlike many in her position, she’s actually put her money where her mouth is and  launched a Government petition to make online bullying a “specific criminal offence”.

The glamour model has wholeheartedly put her weight behind the campaign after trolls cruelly target her disabled son Harvey.

She has asked fans to back her up in her effort to stop trolls once and for all, and is urging the Government to take drastic action.

Within minutes of the online petition going live, it had received more than 500 signatures within MINUTES, while celebs such as WAG Rebekah Vardy retweeted it in support.

The petition, named, “Make online abuse a specific criminal offence and create a register of offenders”, was set up by Katie herself and will remain open until September.

On the page, Katie explains her reason behind the petition.

“Trolling is a major problem in this day and age,” she wrote.

“People of all ages and background suffer every day, including my family – especially my son Harvey.

“I have tried my best to expose people and even had two arrested but nothing was done and there were no repercussions or penalties for this behaviour.”

She added: “This does not affect just high profile people it affects everyone from every walk of life from young children, teenagers, people at work, husbands and wives.

“This abuse includes racism, homophobia, body shaming and a whole range of other hate speech.

“This petition is an important topical issue and I want it to help bring justice to everyone who has ever suffered at the hands of trolls. Help me to hammer home worldwide that bullying is unacceptable whether it’s face to face or in an online space.”
