It’s got to be one of the weirdest stories ever about Katie Price and, let’s face it, that’s saying quite a lot.
A transgender teenage fan stole money from her by impersonating the Pricey in a bank.
The staff were fooled by a blonde wig, even though 18-year-old Kerry Marshall looks nothing whatsoever like the household name.
She also hid her eyes behind a pair of presumably huge dark glasses.
Katie Price has now spoken out about her fury when she realised what had happened.
The cunning thief had stolen her identity and nicked a whopping £12,500 from her account.
Marshall then went on a shopping spree lasting a week, even buying a Mazda sports car with £9,000 of the stolen cash.
She took out £1,000 from an account in the name of one of Katie’s kids, and returned a few days later to steal another £1,500.
Never one to mince her words, Katie laid into the scammer’s looks on Loose Women: “Look at the state of it… How you think that was me…
“She had like wigs and that on… they went to HSBCs, drew out money. She bought a Mazda convertible, opened up accounts online.
“I found out because I was shopping and my card declined… So I phone the bank and they said: ‘You’ve instructed us to change address…’
Marshall, from Eastgate, Sleaford, also spent her loot on a £600 Pandora bracelet and £400 of goods from the Internet.
It’s thought the cunning trickster picked up Katie’s financial details along with the star’s ID a whole 10 months earlier by walking straight into Pricey’s home pretending to be one of her many staff.
The brazen stunt was scuppered by Katie’s mum who smelled something fishy and asked the teenager for proof of ID.
She scarpered but kept hold of the personal effects and waited patiently for the right time to steal the cash.
Katie only knew something was up when she suffered that awful ‘card declined’ moment and was told what was going on.
Marshall admitted six charges of fraud between 27 September and 4 October 2011.
She was given a two-year community order and ordered to complete 18 months of mental health treatment.
