Katie Price’s boyfriend Kris Boyson has claimed she is suffering with her demons in “silence”.
The fitness trainer has revealed that mum-of-five Katie has been dealing with things internally rather than sharing her worries.
Kris, who has been dating the 40-year-old star for nine months, said she puts on a “tough” exterior as a way of coping.
Kris revealed his own battle with depression in an interview with new! magazine and said of Katie: “She’s been in the game a long time, but she suffers as well. In fact, she’s a prime example of someone who suffers in silence.
“Don’t think she’s as hard as she appears to be. People think she’s tough as nails and she plays up to that because it’s her coping mechanism.”
He added that criticism affects the former glamour model, despite her not showing it.
He continued: “If she shows any weakness she’ll get eaten alive. She may play the game and act hard, but criticism and lies really affect her.”

Last year, Katie checked in to day rehab at The Priory after suffering post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) and she admitted turning to cocaine when she was at “breaking point”.
She previously admitted she was battling anxiety and taking medication for it. It came after her mum Amy was diagnosed with a terminal lung illness, she suffered a miscarriage and her husband Kieran Hayler had cheated on her again.
She said on Loose Women in 2017: “I am on it, it’s for anxiety. I’m not scared to admit it. If you’ve got a headache you go to the doctor and you get a tablet.
She added: “I get anxiety now so I take it.”
Kris spoke about his own struggle with depression and anxiety during his interview. He admitted he once attempted suicide.
He said he wanted to speak out following the death of Love Island star Mike Thalassitis.
Mike, 26, was found hanged in woodland in North London on Saturday 16 March.
