Katie Price’s mother has expressed her relief that her daughter has reached out for help and checked into rehab with post-traumatic stress disorder.
The troubled star is set to spend four weeks being treated at the Priory after reportedly breaking down earlier this week when her family begged her to seek assistance, having become “completely lost”.
Speaking to The Sun, mum Amy said Katie has been “tearing herself apart for years” but pointed the finger at her exes and detractors on social media.
“No mum or dad wants to see their child treated like this, watch as they crumble, and feel powerless to help. It’s unbearable,” said Amy, who has a terminal lung illness.

She also insisted Katie, 40, has been persistently judged over her career, family, finances and appearance – and that no-one is able to withstand such pressure.
Accusing the men in Katie’s life of ‘using’ her for publicity, Amy urged Katie’s estranged husband Kieran Hayler and exes Alex Reid and Peter Andre to consider their own behaviour and “take some responsibility”.
She added: “I am relieved that Kate has admitted she needs help to cope, to recognise her shortcomings and erratic behaviour, and to learn to love herself – to find the person inside she really is.
“Rehab is a commitment she has made to herself, so I hope others allow her the breathing space to do this, and to heal herself.”

According to The Sun, former model Katie will be subject to a curfew but can return home to look after her kids in the evening.
It is also reported she has had her phone taken away and will have to stay off social media.
Should medics consider she is a threat to herself or she breaks the clinic’s rules, it is believed she will be required to stay at the Priory for residential treatment.
