Katy wore a white dress with a heart-shaped cut-out on her back, in which a top covered with photos of the victims that had passed away, was showing through.
People watching the concert at home were amazed at her tribute.
One called her an “angel” and said that it was “such a small, yet touching, tribute”.
The 32-year-old pop star sang Roar and Part of Me, and also gave a powerful speech to the 50,000 people in the crowd.
She said: “It’s not easy to always choose love, is it? Especially in moments like these. It can be the most difficult thing to do.
“But love conquers fear, and love conquers hate, and this love you chose will give you strength and it’s out greatest power.”
The Teenage Dream singer then urged the crowd to show their love to one another.
“So now as you stand here, all of you here and all of you watching from wherever you are, standing next to a stranger or family member, or friend, or loved one, let’s just do this little exercise in love,” she said.
Then added: “Touch the person next to you. Make human contact. Tell them: ‘I love you’. Look in their eyes and say ‘I love you!’ Do it! I encourage you to choose love even when it’s difficult. Let no one take that away from you.”
The event, in which Take That, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Little Mix, Niall Horan, Black Eyed Peas and Liam Gallagher performed, was organised by Ariana Grande to raise money for the victims.
