Kerry Katona has defended a picture of her youngest daughter wearing a face full of make-up.
The Atomic Kitten star decided to share the snap of five-year-old DJ on Instagram and was quick to shutdown any criticism about her youngest wearing the war paint.
Kerry explained her eldest daughter Molly had been practising her glamour skills on her siblings and they had a much-needed day of fun, following the recent tragedy of DJ’s dad George Kay dying.
Kerry wrote: “So after DJ watching @123_mollymc do her big sister’s make-up DJ wanted to get hers done so we’ve all had a very girly day with lots of fun which was very much needed!
“Before anyone starts to kick off about DJ wearing make-up it was just a little bit of fun and great makeup practice for Molly! No one was hurt in the making of these pics!”
Fans rushed to back Kerry after her explanatory post.
“It’s terrible how you have to justify everything you do because of small minded people. You’re a great mum,” insisted one of her followers.
A second added: “After what has happened to her this year, what is a little bit of make-up? She’s having fun with her mum and siblings!”
A third fan commented: “And bet she had the best time ever and that’s all that matters, she’s so like her big sister.”
Kerry also shared snaps of daughters Molly, 17, and Lily Sue, 16, after their pamper day.

Kerry recalled the heartbreaking moment she had to tell DJ that her father had passed away.
Kerry told New! magazine: “I just told her: ‘Daddy’s fallen asleep. He hasn’t woken up and he’s in heaven. Which means Daddy’s died.'”
She added: “She idolised her dad. We still had his photos up around the house. She loved him to bits and he loved her. I’ve never, ever disputed that.”
