Through The Keyhole: Inside Donald Trump’s extravagant homes

Prepare for more gold than you'd have imagined existed in the world

| Updated:

The all-new Donald J. Trump Grand Ballroom was completed in 2005, and at 20,000 square feet is the largest on the island. The exterior was designed in the Spanish / Mediterranean style to conform to the exterior of the house. The interior is in a Louis XIV gold and crystal finish that is one of the finest spaces of its kind in the country. In a new building adjacent to the ballroom is a complementary state-of-the-art kitchen.

Trump scooped it up in 1985 for less than $10 million, renovated it, and ultimately turned it into the society destination it is today. James Taylor describes the clientele as “lacquered blondes” wearing “five-inch Louboutins.” We don’t doubt that for a second.
