Through The Keyhole: Inside Donald Trump’s extravagant homes

Prepare for more gold than you'd have imagined existed in the world

| Updated:

Built in 1939, for $200,000, the house has 45 bedrooms and features a three-story rotunda with “butterfly” staircases. “Ivana did a lot of renovations,” listing agent Tamar Lurie, of Coldwell Banker, said of the main entryway, referring to Trump’s former wife. “Decor-wise, it was all gold leaf — all of this was gold leaves all over the place. It was kind of dramatic.”

The setting is pretty impressive. The mansion has a putting green in the backyard, a huge tennis court and sits on roughly 6 acres of land near the tip of Indian Harbor Point.

The house has both indoor and outdoor pools, a cinema, a bowling alley, tennis court and guest house. One of the sitting rooms is rather toned down compared to the rest of Trump’s properties. We would imagine that The White House would have a room just like this one.

Even with a cost cut, the home was one of the priciest on the market, according to the Greenwich Multiple Listing Service.
