Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has revealed she needs surgery to correct an issue with her bones.
The 42-year-old revealed she has been suffering with pain in her pelvis for a long time and had to have an MRI scan to get to the bottom of what was wrong.
Kym explained in her OK! magazine column: “I’ve had pain in my pelvis for a while now. I recently went for an MRI scan and I’ve been told I have a bone spur on the tip of my coccyx.”
The actress went on to reveal that she has grown an extra bit of bone and this is what is causing her the discomfort.
“It’s basically an overgrowth of bone, which is pushing into muscles and tendons and causing me discomfort,” she said, adding: “I have to have a procedure done to correct it and I’m told exercising won’t cause it any damage.”
Kym’s diagnosis comes after she had a health scare just last month.

Kym was so unwell she revealed that her older children, Emilie and David, had to look after her young daughter Polly and take her to school.
The star said the ordeal was “terrifying” at the time as she couldn’t stop shaking and felt as though she had been “hit by a truck.”
She is still waiting for the results of the tests but doctors told her that it may have been salmonella poisoning.
