While Jamie Lomas has been stuck in the Australian jungle, it’s all been happening back home.
The Hollyoaks star’s ex-wife, Kym Marsh, has revealed that she had to rush their six-year-old daughter Polly to hospital last week after she was struck down by a viral infection that left her “gasping for breath”.
And Corrie actress Kym described the late-night incident as “really horrible”.
Writing in her OK! magazine column, Kym, 41, said: “There was a bit of a drama in our household last week. Polly started to develop a cough and a cold, but on Wednesday night at 11.30pm she just started gasping for breath.
“I had to rush her over to Salford Royal Hospital. It turned out she’d got croup. It’s something that children up to the age of three can get, but Polly is six.
“The hospital were brilliant and the staff put Polly at ease because she was terrified. It was really horrible to see.”
Fortunately, Polly soon started to feel better.
Mum-of-four Kym was divorced from Jamie, 42, in 2014 after just two years of marriage.

But the former Hear’Say singer – who’s now dating personal trainer Matt Baker – has revealed that she’s still good friends with Jamie, and is even backing him to win I’m A Celebrity.
According to The Mirror, she said: “We went for coffee a few weeks before he went [to Australia].
“There’s no bad feelings. We have a very good relationship, Jamie and I. Polly has a good relationship with her dad.”
And when quizzed about his chances of being crowned King of the Jungle, she added: “Why not? He’s a character – he’s got a personality.”
Meanwhile, Jamie’s sister Charley Webb has expressed her sadness over the fact that Jamie didn’t receive an email of support from his family this week.
As well as Polly, he has an 11-year-old son with his former girlfriend Haley Lever.

And Emmerdale actress Charley, 29, tweeted: “Feel so sad for Jamie. It was a lovely letter from us all, with beautiful messages from his children. He’ll be happy for everyone else getting theirs Xxx.”
No doubt he can’t wait to get home to give them all – and especially poorly Polly – a great big hug.
