She has now admitted that she would not have been able to pull through if it wasn’t for David and Emelie, then 13 and 11.

Kym, 40, told The Sun: “I never got to the point of thinking about taking my own life, but I don’t know how I might have felt if I hadn’t had two young children and a good support network around me.
“I know that others who have lost children have found themselves in the same situation as Michelle. I can totally understand how people feel like they can’t carry on.
After eight years, the ex-Hear’Say singer is now mum to six-year-old Polly and was strong enough to act in a Corrie storyline that completely mirrored her own personal heartbreak.
Viewers in their millions have been gripped by her character Michelle losing son Ruairi at 23 weeks and almost killing herself.
Kym said she got so down at one point that she just didn’t see the point in anything.
“I didn’t want to go outside, I didn’t want to see anyone, I didn’t want to hear anyone laughing. How could anyone laugh when my son has died?
“I just wanted to stay hidden away forever. But you do learn to accept it and move forward.
“And I’m lucky to have three amazing kids. David and Emilie are grown up now and Polly is a little whirlwind and a delight.”

The star added: “I think it’s important for families to talk about the child they’ve lost.
