Kym Marsh says she underwent a brain scan after experiencing dizzy spells

The tests thankfully showed no signs of anything serious

Kym Marsh has revealed she underwent a brain scan after experiencing dizzy spells.

The Coronation Street actress wrote in her latest OK! magazine column she had the scan as a precautionary measure and, thankfully, the results came back all clear.

She said: “I had some good news last week. I’d had a brain scan because I have been experiencing dizzy spells and the results came back with thankfully no signs of anything serious.

“I must admit, I was a little anxious beforehand, even though the doctor told me it was just precautionary.”

And, showing she can joke about it now, she quipped: “To be honest, I’m quite surprised they found a brain!”

Kym, 41, had written in a previous column that medics thought her dizziness could be related to an inner ear problem, possibly stemming from the colds and sinus issues she’s had during winter.

“It’s limiting though,” she said. “I can’t drive and I can’t work so it’s a problem.”

Thankfully for Kym, she was well enough to attend her Archie’s Footprint charity ball over the weekend, which she organised in memory of her late son, Archie.

The soap star and now ex-husband Jamie Lomas were heartbroken in 2009 when Archie was born 18 weeks early.

He tragically died moments after birth.

Kym organised the charity ball, held the day before what would have been Archie’s 9th birthday, to raise funds for other families experiencing bereavement.

She was supported by a slew of Corrie co-stars at the event including Shayne Ward, Lucy Fallon and Helen Flanagan.

Yesterday, she shared a poignant Instagram post to mark Archie’s birthday.

She said: “9 years ago today our lives changed forever. Our hearts will never heal and our tears will always fall because we miss you so much. I am so proud to have been your mummy.

“I wish we were having a party today with balloons and presents. I wish I had got to see your smile and hold your hand. I wish I could kiss your face and hug you tightly. I wish I had heard your voice.

“I wish I had been able to pick you up when you had fallen, put plasters on your knees, dry your tears. I wish I wish I wish you were here.

“You are always in our hearts my beautiful boy. Happy birthday. We miss you and love you so very much. Have fun up there today little one Mummy loves you.”
