Liam Payne FINALLY addresses claims new song is about Cheryl split

The suggestive lyrics reference a break up and passionate reunion

Liam Payne has EVERYONE speculating on whether his cryptic and rather saucy new single Bedroom Floor is about breaking up with girlfriend Cheryl.

Curious fans were desperate to know whether the track’s lyrics about a break-up referenced something that had happened with Chez behind closed doors.

After all, Liam has admitted Cheryl, 34, did try to dump him once before…

The song is all about a girl who ditches a guy and then calls him up when she’s lonely to get back together.

Lyrics include: “Baby, I heard you’ve been talking about me lately, telling all your friends how much you late me… We always on and off, until you’re on me. You want to break up just to fix it now.”

Another line is: “You said it was over but your clothes say different on my bedroom floor.”

Given Liam, 24, revealed in May that Cheryl tried to dump him over the phone and he’d written a song about it, it was a fair leap to think Bedroom Floor was that track.

Liam told The Sun: “There’s one song that is basically a phone call that happened between me and her when she was about to let it go.

“And it’s basically me trying to cling on and say, ‘No, no, no, it’s all going to work out, don’t worry about it, give it time’.”

Obviously, his plea worked as he and Cheryl are very much still together and proud parents to seven-month-old son Bear.

But Bedroom Floor is NOT the track about Cheryl dumping him.

Liam told The Sun: “No, that’s a different story on the album actually. I can’t say [any more] yet because we haven’t revealed the track list.”

Intriguing!

Liam added to Sunrise TV of Bedroom Floor: “I think it’s a situation lots of people have been through and can relate to, about the awesome part of a relationship with somebody that’s just not happening for you.

“I love the song. It’s my favourite song on the album and it’s my missus’ favourite song, too.”

Cheryl proved that by replying “me” on Twitter when Liam asked fans who was ready for the track. Aww!

Naturally, given Chez is a popstar herself, fans have been asking whether there will be a collaboration between them on Liam’s debut solo album.

Sadly, however, it’s not meant to be.

Liam told Daily Star: “People are always asking us when we’re going to do a song together. We’re just not those kinds of people. She’s very meticulous in what she does.”

Maybe for album two?
