Linda Nolan gushed over the fact that she’s still alive amid her ongoing cancer battle to meet her new great-niece in a new interview.
The 65-year-old has been battling an incurable secondary breast cancer since 2017.
Linda Nolan and her cancer battle
Yesterday (Wednesday, July 10), Linda wrote an article for The Mirror about her battle with secondary breast cancer.
Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. However, she was given the all-clear in 2011.
In 2017, she fell on her hip and was taken to hospital. While there, doctors discovered a form of incurable secondary breast cancer on her pelvis. She has been undergoing regular radiotherapy to ensure that the cancer doesn’t spread.
In March of last year, Linda revealed that the cancer had metastasised to her brain, with a tumour discovered on the left side of her brain. This has led to loss of balance on her right side.
However, in her new article, Linda is clearly looking at the positives.

Linda Nolan on ‘being alive’
“The fact I am alive this week means I will get to meet my new great-niece, who was born on Wednesday,” Linda wrote.
“More weeks will mean more lunches with my school friends, more bingo with my sisters. Maybe even wins,” she then added.
In the article, Linda discussed a new drug, Enhertu, which is yet to be licensed for women with a particular type of secondary breast cancer. It is licensed in Scotland. There are people currently campaigning with the hope that parliament will license it.
Enhertu can extend life by “months” in people who are battling cancer.
“While I’m waiting to find out if I’m medically suitable for it, many of these women, including Nadia’s [Sawalha] good friend, Hannah, know they are. Yet they have zero control over getting it – and with cancer, you have precious little control already. A few months doesn’t sound like much. To me, and people like me, every day means everything. It is why we fight,” she said.
Linda will ‘miss family time’
Back in April, Linda confessed that she would miss family time.
Speaking about her hopes for the future with Women magazine, she said: “Maureen’s son Danny and his wife are expecting another baby.
“I hope I get to meet them. I’d love to visit them in America. Physically I can make the journey but the ticket prices are just so high and I probably wouldn’t get insured,” she then continued.
“I don’t have a bucket list, it’s just family time that I will miss. I’m realistic, I know I’m going to miss weddings or the younger ones having their own babies. I hope I will see some of them.”
