Linda Nolan cause of death revealed as double pneumonia

Despite Linda being open about her 20-year cancer battle over the years, Maureen revealed that she didn’t die from cancer. In her touching tribute on Instagram, the 70 year old said her younger sister had contracted double pneumonia over Christmas and New Year.

“Our beautiful @thelindanolan left us yesterday, so much to say not sure where or if I can start, countless memories, countless laughs, and constant support when you really needed it, I am heartbroken as we all are, just so sad,” she wrote, adding three broken-heart emoji.

Maureen added: “I would just like to say, to all the people out there who felt inspired by Linda, the big C didn’t actually get her. She contracted double pneumonia over Christmas and New Year and because of her immune system it was one battle too much.

“So please keep hopeful and strong if you are suffering, she lasted nearly 20 yrs with one cancer or another, and so can you.”

Maureen shared numerous images of herself with Linda over the years to accompany the post.

Tributes poured in

Following the emotional post, many tributes poured in for Linda.

“So sorry Maureen. She was loved all over the world. Thinking of you all,” one user wrote.

“I hope she knew how many people she helped with her positivity and outlook on life. She certainly helped me,” another person shared.

“Ahhhh Maureen, my heart is breaking for you and your family right now. So very sorry for your loss. Sending you loads of love and strength right now,” former Corrie star Lucy-Jo Hudson said.
