Loose Women star Linda Robson has opened up about some “revolting” side effects she suffered due to weight loss.
Birds of a Feather actress Linda, 66, has reportedly given diets from WeightWatchers a go, as well as trying slimming pills, in the past.
But one particular diet Linda previously followed, she has recalled, gave her bad breath and made her hair fall out.
Linda Robson on her weight loss
At one point a few years ago fans expressed concerns Linda may have lost ‘too much’ weight following speculation she dropped three stone in 18 months.
Now Linda has told Woman magazine she’s spent ‘most of her life’ following various diets – even when she may not have needed to.
“They’re all horrible,” Linda insisted, adding she feels diets tend to lead to diarrhoea or hyperactivity. She said one diet plan was “so strict” and the side effects she experienced were “revolting”.
My hair started falling out, my breath stank.
Listing other side effects, she continued: “My hair started falling out, my breath stank, and because I was literally living on packet soups, a snack bar and a milkshake – that’s all I would have all day – I was starving the whole time.”
‘It was as if I was at death’s door’
Linda, who felt the approach was not sustainable, also reflected on how her relationship with alcohol may have been linked to her weight.
Linda previously said: “After I stopped drinking the wine, I went down to a size eight, and everyone was telling me how good I looked because of the weight loss, but inside, I was falling apart.
“I was spending whole days crying, and I looked absolutely terrible, really skinny like a skeleton… It was as if I was at death’s door, with hollowed-out cheeks and lines etched across my face.”
But following rehab in 2019, Linda regained weight – and confidence.
“Life can change in a split second,” she added.
