Former Big Brother contestant Lisa Appleton has revealed she’s living in a £5 per night treehouse in Wolverhampton.
The 50-year-old told fans she’s currently going through a rough patch in her life but staying positive that things will change soon.
She said: “As a 50 year old woman never thought in my wildest dreams I’d end up living in a tree house in a field! I kind of take the rough with the smooth these days, think I’m in shock, not quite had the happy life I long for yet or lucky break I deserve but it’s life and life goes on.”
Lisa told The Sun that her treehouse has no running water or electricity but she has a disposable barbecue for cooking and always ensures she’s presentable for work.

She came off benefits 18 months ago and is now working a steady job in sales, but it’s still been financially difficult for her and she was unable to pay rent on her previous accommodation.
Lisa said: “I am staying in the tree house because I can’t afford enough money for a deposit on a shared room in a house yet. It’s £5 a night and the farmer who owns the field is lovely and said I can stay for as long as I like.
“It’s basic but it’s a roof over my head. I’m trying to make it feel more homely by putting out pictures and nice things. I know it won’t be forever.”
Lisa later took to Twitter to insist the story wasn’t a “set up” or just for publicity.
She said: “Trust me it is not. I started a job and have no choice but to rough it budget till I’m on my feet again! I have never had anything handed on a plate it’s where I’m at but hopefully not for too long.”
She told another follower: “It’s much cheaper than renting and a means to an end you have to get ball rolling x
Lisa also declared: “The beautiful thing is when at #RockBottom the only way is up and every step of the way feels like #Heaven feeling blessed #Grateful #Gratitude appreciating nature even felt more sorry for the fox, I feed him my left overs, he’s my buddy I care.”
Lisa found fame on the 2008 series of Big Brother alongside then-boyfriend Mario Marconi.
Since then, she’s become as known for her often outlandish and eye-catching photoshoots as her television work.
Several fans rallied around her following the news of her living situation, telling Lisa that things will improve and they admire her positivity.
