Loose Women CANCELLED on International Women’s Day

The show was shelved to make way for the Budget

Fans are in uproar after Wednesday’s episode of Loose Women was scrapped.

Instead of the usual hour of debate and chat with the panellists, ITV screened a live Budget special.

The move seems particularly controversial as it’s International Women’s Day.

Host Ruth Langsford revealed the news at the end of Tuesday’s show to a big sigh from the audience.

The show has since put out several tweets reminding viewers they were having a day off – and knowing how annoyed people were, making sure they apologised:

“We’re not on air today because of Chancellor’s budget… But we’re back tomorrow!” they said.

And they’ve revealed that Thursday’s guest will be the lovely Gok Wan.

But fans still aren’t happy and have taken to Twitter themselves to make their feelings known.

@sarahlegweak said: “Coming home from uni to find loose women had been replaced by the chancellor budget was below par.”

While @_dannibenbowx simply said: “furious loose women has been cancelled today”.

@TheMagus revealed they and a friend had been “crying our eyes out”.

And @msargent1976 was incredulous as she said: “So it’s International Women’s Day and ITV have taken off today’s Loose Women?! Way to put us in our place [sic]”.

Fans are set to be further disappointed next week when the show goes off air for almost the whole week from Tuesday to Friday due to racing at Cheltenham.
