Loose Women star Linda Robson’s daily dementia tests

She watched her mum deteriorate from the disease

Linda Robson gets tested for dementia “all the time”, the Loose Women favourite has revealed.

The 60-year-old actress has admitted she undergoes regular tests for the disease because she’s terrified of getting dementia like her beloved mother Rita.

The actress – who watched her mother battle the disease for years before her death in 2012 – told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “I test myself all the time to check I’m not getting it.

“I try to remember numbers, things like that. It was awful seeing the woman I worshipped deteriorate.”

Linda is currently working with the Alzheimer’s Society to help raise money to pay for research into the disease.

The Birds of a Feather star is also a big supporter of Marie Curie, which helped nurse her mother in a hospice in the months before she died.

She shared: “They made my mum’s last months and moments the best they possibly could.

“I can never thank them enough for the way they looked after my mum.”

Linda also insisted that the general perception of hospices as “depressing” places is inaccurate.

She continued: “Her death wasn’t unexpected but it was still a shock.

“People think hospices are depressing places but they aren’t – we took so much comfort knowing there was someone looking after Mum round the clock.

“Every person who walked through the door was cared for – not just the patients, but the families too.”
