Loose Women under fire for “cruel” error of judgment

Fans weren't happy with the choice of guests

Viewers have slated today’s edition of Loose Women after a bizarre mix of guests made them angry.

The panel of Ruth Langsford, Linda Robson, Janet Street-Porter, and Gloria Huniford welcomed author and TV presenter Dawn O’Porter to the show, as well as TOWIE star Gemma Collins.

Dawn was there to discuss her new book, as well as the impending arrival of her second child. And Gemma was on to talk about her ongoing fertility struggle.

Gem’s been incredibly open about her desire to have children and has been talking about freezing her eggs recently. On last night’s TOWIE she was seen visiting a fertility doctor where she received devastating news.

They told her egg freezing wasn’t an option because she had a low ovary reserve and advised she consider using a donor egg.

As she talked openly about her battle to become a mum on Loose Women, Gemma revealed she hasn’t ruled out using a donor or adoption, vowing to have a child one way or another.

But fans were furious that they put Gemma on the same show as pregnant Dawn.

Venting their outrage on Twitter, they called the show “insensitive” and “cruel”.

Adele Northam said: “Bit insensitive having Gemma sat next to a pregnant Dawn O’Porter when Gemma is on talking about fertility issues”.

And Iris added “Not very well planned today putting a woman who’s pregnant with second child on same show as a woman struggling to have a baby [sic]”.

Juyey agreed: “Have @loosewomen really got a pregnant guest gushing about babies & one that may not be able to have kids on the same show? Bit cruel”.

With Teresa adding: “2 guests one that’s pregnant and one talking about potentially not being able to have children with fertility issues – gd choice”.

Gemma was able to find some humour in her circumstances though as she joked that men come into her shop just to offer her their sperm!

“I’m in my shop on a Saturday and men are popping their head through the door like, ‘Gem, do you want a baby?’

“Like, what are they thinking? Are we going in the changing room?”
