She wrote: “We are forever indebted to the wonderful staff of Ward A22 @NHSForthValley who cared for our mum Cathie before she passed away on July 29th.
“They gave us comfort at a time of desolation and, for that, we are grateful.”
The NHS Forth Valley Hospital’s official Twitter page replied to her tweet, saying: “We are very sorry for your sad news, our deepest sympathies to you and your family.
“Thank you for your very kind words which we will share with staff in ward A22.”
Kaye also took to her Facebook page to pen an emotional message to her mum.
She said: “She fought so very hard to stay with us but it was not to be. In the early hours of Sunday 29th July, we lost our beloved mum, Cathie.
“She was a fearless force of nature who loved us ferociously, as we loved her in return.”
She added: “We are forever indebted to the wonderful staff of Ward A22 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital who cared for mum – and us – with the greatest of kindness.
“She rests now with her darling Duncan [Kaye’s father], Mr and Mrs A together again. Mum – your strength will carry us forward but you will remain in our hearts forever.”
Fans rushed to send their condolences to Kaye.
One person said: “Sorry to hear that Kaye! But what a legacy she has left in her strong and funny daughter.”

Speaking on Loose Women at the time, Kaye said: “It was horrific. He had a form of dementia but my dad was still my dad.”
