In an interview with Bella magazine, Lorraine revealed that she wasn’t happy with her appearance following pandemic weight gain.
It started off as a few biscuits, and ended up as almost the entire confectionary shop.
“After gaining weight in lockdown, I’d become unhappy,” she said.
“My own particular downfall was having a cup of tea and a ‘chocolate plate’ just before bedtime,” she admitted. “It started off as a few biscuits, and ended up as almost the entire confectionary shop.”
Lorraine blames these sweet treats, a bit too much booze and a general lack of exercise for causing her to increase two dress sizes.
As a result, she decided to turn to WW (previously Weight Watchers) in order to adopt some healthier habits. She’s said that keeping a better eye on her diet and daily walks with her beloved border terrier Angus have been crucial to losing weight.
She’s also discovered the benefits of wild water swimming.
“I love wild water swimming – I don’t get to do it as much as I’d like, but now the weather is getting a wee bit better, I’ll try do it once a week,” she told South Wales magazine last year.
Sharing that she is now down to a size 10, Lorraine says that she’s “feeling much better”, and what’s more, her friends and family reckon she “has her sparkle back” too.
