It’s been nearly 12 years, but Madeleine McCann’s parents, Kate and Gerry, are not giving up hope of finding their missing daughter.
In fact, Kate has just donated another £85,000 to the ‘Find Madeleine – Leaving No Stone Unturned’ campaign fund, which is solely dedicated to the search.

The cash comes from Kate’s book royalties, after the 2011 ‘Madeleine’ book became a bestseller around the world.
The Mirror reports the 50-year-old mum’s donation of £84,096 has increased the company’s private profits to £823,332.
Find Madeleine: Leaving No Stone Unturned was created in 2007, to raise extra funds for the toddler’s search.

Scotland Yard’s investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance from an apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2007, aged three, has so far cost £11.75million.

It comes after Madeleine’s parents – who are also mum and dad to twins, Amelie and Sean – dismissed the latest circulating theory about her disappearance.

Reports just before Christmas claimed that investigating officers believed the three-year-old wandered away from the family’s hotel room in May 2007 and something happened to her once she left the safety of her bed.
Kate and Gerry McCann apparently insist that their first-born child was snatched from their holiday apartment in Praia del Luz in the Algarve.

A source allegedly close to the couple told The Sun: “Kate and Gerry have always maintained that their daughter was abducted and simply didn’t get up and wander off to her fate. To suggest this is almost ridiculous.
“There were heavy shutters which would have been impossible for a small child to open.”
The couple also shared a message over the festive period, writing on their website Find Maddie: “We couldn’t let a Christmas go by without passing on a warm ‘thank you’ to all our supporters for the kind and continuing good wishes, especially at this very busy time of year.

“We miss Madeleine dearly. Christmas will never be the same without her, but we will continue to make the best of what we have. Thank you. Kate & Gerry.”
