With the news of Prince Harry’s engagement to Meghan Markle breaking just before This Morning went on air today, it was inevitable that Holly and Phil would spend some time chatting about the next Royal wedding.
But viewers were not impressed with the wall-to-wall coverage of the engagement. And they took to Twitter to whinge that Suits-fan Holly and fellow Royalist Phil were going a bit over the top with their gushing excitement.
“Time for the Harry and Meghan show,” said one fed-up viewer.

While another said it was “daytime telly at its most shallow and pointless”.
And all the speculation about where the wedding will be, what the dress will be like or who Meghan’s bridesmaids will be, also got right up viewers’ noses.

“It’s ridiculous,” one viewer commented. “Is this what it’s gonna be like for the next god knows how long??”
The news brought out some comedians too.
“What’s that prince harry is engaged?” joked one viewer. “oh you didn’t mention it.”
It wasn’t all negative, though. Lots of viewers were thrilled by the news.
“Congratulations to them both,” wrote one happy fan. “May you have many happy years together.”
While another said: “I’m so happy to hear some Good News today.” And a third said: “Congratulations Harry and Meghan.”
