The Duchess of Sussex has had some layers cut into her hair, potentially to ease the weight as pregnancy affects its growth.

Speaking to Femail, celebrity stylist James Johnson claimed that thickening hair during pregnancy can be uncomfortable, and Meghan’s layers will help to deal with it.
“It looks like Meghan really has had a subtle haircut recently with more fine layers around her face,” he said.
“I think the reason Meghan has cut layers into her hair is because she’s pregnant.
“Your hair cycle stops when you’re pregnant which means the hair you would usually lose on a daily basis doesn’t shed until you give birth – when you lose it all in one go.”

He claimed that cutting in layers allows Meghan to ease the weight of her hair while avoiding a more dramatic haircut, and detracting from her work as a member of the Royal Family – a technique that was used in the past by Princess Diana.
Diana’s personal hairdresser, Richard Dalton, would alter her hair in tiny increments over several weeks, rather than all at once.
Speaking to Town & Country he spoke of the Princess’s haircuts, and the lengths they went to to avoid undue attention.

“Whatever I did to her hair became front page news,” he said. “We had to be very careful. We had to do it one-fourth of an inch at a time over several weeks.”
Whether Meghan will continue to trim her hair over the next few months remains to be seen – she may follow in her sister-in-law’s footsteps and deal with it after the baby arrives.
Kate Middleton chopped a few inches from her hair after welcoming baby Louis.
