She’s called Scary Spice for a reason and Melanie Brown was at her most terrifying during an interview on Monday’s Good Morning Britain.
In fact, things got so tense that the Spice Girl tapped presenter Susanna Reid’s arm, and told her: “I don’t want to hear that… you shouldn’t do that.”
The interview started on a slightly awkward footing when serial offender Piers Morgan introduced Mel by saying: “Talking of disgraceful…”
He then turned to the singer, who looked shocked and said: “What does that mean?”
Piers quickly added: “I’m joking! I’m joking.” And then called her a “superstar”.
“See, that’s nicer, isn’t it?” she said.
Mel, 43, then spoke about her autobiography, Brutally Honest, describing her “unfortunate 10-year relationship,” with her ex-husband, Stephen Belafonte, who she says abused her for years.
The former X Factor judge seemed to warm up as they chatted but lashed out at the end of the interview when Susanna read out Stephen’s “right of reply”, which is a legal requirement.
Mel exclaimed: “Oh God, I don’t want to hear that.”
As Susanna said he denied the allegations, Mel reached over and hit Susanna on the arm, saying: “You shouldn’t do that. You shouldn’t give the right of reply, [don’t] give him a platform.”
Piers told her: “Unfortunately we have to do it, whether we want to or not.”
Viewers were shocked by the singer’s reaction, with one tweeting: “Did Mel B just slap Susanna on GMB?! Bit OTT when it’s obv they have to legally offer a right of reply to her ex 🙄.”
Others defended her, saying: “I love how Mel B isn’t afraid to stand her ground.”
Another added: “@GMB Mel B inspirational and strong showing her vulnerability and what domestic abuse does to anyone and everyone who experiences it #heroine.”

Mel has been on the promo tour the last few weeks, selling her new book, where she has made a series of sad revelations about her marriage to Stephen.
She even admitted to a suicide attempt in 2014, writing: “As each pill goes into my mouth, I ask myself: ‘Are you sure?’
“And I take another one. Ten, 20, 50, 100. ‘Are you sure?’ Behind the glitter of fame, I felt emotionally battered, estranged from my family.
“I felt ugly and detested by the very man who once promised to love and protect me, my husband and manager Stephen.”
She went on: “As soon as I’d swallowed that last pill, I knew I didn’t want to go anywhere. ‘Melanie! What the [bleep] are you doing? Get a grip!'”
