Concerns for ‘frail’ Michael Bolton amid brain tumour battle

The singer has shared a new picture to Facebook…

Singer Michael Bolton has sparked concern after posting a picture on Facebook to celebrate his 72nd birthday.

The Time, Love & Tenderness singer revealed at the start of 2024 that he’d been forced to undergo emergency surgery after doctors discovered a brain tumour.

Then, earlier this month, he cancelled a scheduled tour date for the summer in London as he continues his recovery.

Now, he’s celebrated his birthday, with concerns from fans littered among the happy birthday wishes…

Michael Bolton’s birthday pic sparks concern

Posting on Facebook, the picture shows Michael surrounded by two of his daughters and his grandchildren.

He captioned the post: “Spending my birthday filled with love and gratitude. Wishing you all the same, today and everyday!”

Among the birthday wishes were comments from fans concerned about his health.

“Get better soon Michael, enjoy your day and hug them close,” said one. Another added: “Praying for you to get well.” A third echoed the same sentiments: “Praying for a speedy recovery.”

Another commented: “Love his voice and songs – play them all time. so sad. Best wishes to him.”

“I hope he will be okay,” said another. “It’s just sad to see him looking so frail,” another added.

“So sad to see Michael looking so poorly. Sending healing wishes,” said another.

Brain tumour diagnosis

In late 2023, doctors told the singer he had to undergo “immediate surgery” after they discovered a brain tumour. He shared the news in January 2024.

“I want to start by wishing everyone a very happy and healthy New Year! I also want to share that 2023 ended up presenting me with some very unexpected challenges. Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery.

“Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.”

At the time, the musician said that he would be devoting his “time and energy” to his recovery. As a result, he said he would “take a temporary break from touring”.

Earlier this month, he cancelled his performance in London, which was scheduled for the summer.

He explained: “You all know how much I was looking forward to this show but I am continuing to heal from surgery. Thank you for all your love and positive energy over this past year. I am so grateful to have the most supportive fans in the world.”
