The restaurant that late Love Island star Mike Thalassitis was working on before he died is launching this weekend.
Mike sadly took his own life last month, but his business partner, family and friends are keeping his memory alive through new eatery The Skillet.
Mike had been planning his new foodie venture before he passed away, aged 26, and now his hard work will be shared.
The reality star’s business partner Scott Neilson announced the news and paid tribute to his late pal.
Former semi-professional footballer Scott wrote on Instagram: “Brother we done it… could never of done this without you (sic).”
The Loughton restaurant will open its doors to the public this Saturday, April 27.
The restaurant posted a message in honour of Mike on Instagram, which read: “On Saturday 27th April, The Skillet will be opening its doors to welcome the public from 8am-5pm, in honour of Mike Thalassitis.
“The modern brunch eatery will specialise in skillet breakfasts, from the traditional Full English to Classic American Buttermilk Pancakes and Mike’s very own favourite, Poutine Breakfast.”
The post continued: “Mike worked extremely hard on this launch. He was passionate about cooking and it was his dream to one day open a restaurant. Together, we have created a first-rate breakfast bar we hope you will enjoy and we invite you all to come down and celebrate his love of good food.”
The restaurant is also donating all drink proceeds from the launch to mental health charity CALM.
