Reports last week claimed that Dame Angela Lansbury, the 90-year-old Murder, She Wrote star would enjoy a brief stint in the fantasy-drama series, and fans were incredibly excited.

No details about her supposed role were revealed at the time.

Dame Angela has won an honorary Oscar, five Tony awards, six Golden Globes, a Bafta and an Olivier Award, and has played pretty much every role in a career spanning seven decades.

Meanwhile, Game Of Thrones fans can still rejoice in the knowledge that another acting favourite – Jim Broadbent – WILL be making an appearance in next year’s series of the show.

The Bridget Jones’s Diary star was recently confirmed as a cast-member, although there are no details yet of his “significant” role.

Game of Thrones picked up a TV Choice Award earlier this week. The drama is expected to clean up during the 2016 awards system.

It is nominated for an awesome 23 Emmy awards – the ceremony takes place September 16.
